【篇一:第十四届“21世纪杯”全国英语演讲比赛冠军金璐演讲视频 清华大学】

―what would you do if you had only one day left to live?‖

i asked this question to my young students when teaching english this winter. what were their answers?

―i would watch television!‖ the first answer. ―i would play with the computer!‖ the second one. ―i would play with computer too.‖ the girl finished her sentence perfectly with a serious smile. indeed how cute and innocent that smile was, but how seriously my heart was hurt. i was too frightened to listen to more answers like that.

ten years ago, at their age, i had a different answer: i would spend the last day of my life gazing at the face of my dear grandmother until i could inscribed every detail of it onto my mind.

when grandmother was getting old and weak, my family bought her a telephone so i could save time and the trouble of traveling to her home by making phone calls instead. later we bought her a television so she could watch modern dramas by herself. then grandma must have been, we assumed, very contented and happy.

but i never really knew how grandma felt. she silently passed away without a word one night. when i heard about her death, a chilling pain pierced my empty heart. the pain grew even sharper as i tried to remember in detail exactly how grandma looked and i failed completely! how could i remember? i had not visited her for ages—it seemed like a century! my memories of her dissolved into thin air and leaked away like water.

even though i have a telephone, can she hear me now?

even though i might be on television, can she see me now?

even though i have modern telecommunications, can she still communicate with me now? with all these ―tele‖s, i was powerless.

don’t people just love the word of ―tele‖, which means far away. indeed this is how modern technology has changed our world. but please don’t forget this other word with ―tele‖: telepathy: which refers to human beings’ inborn ability to connect to our loved ones. our minds are supposed to read each other’s minds; our hearts are supposed to feel each other’s hearts — and fulfill these without any forms of tool!

but the moment i desperately struggled to remember grandmother’s face, the telepathy between her and me had shut down forever. with the help of modern technology, i killed our telepathy. this shall never happen again! the ―tele‖s are great inventions. but ―telepathy‖ gives them the warmth of a human face. let’s

harness the power of television to excite our kids to develop their telepathy with nature… so that they can read the secret language of flowers. let’s make the telephone lines provoke us to preserve our telepathy with each other, so we can connect in a warm and feeling way. let technology keep our ―telepathy‖ alive! we need to wake up and make this happen.

i told my grandma’s story to those young kids that day. they got very quiet. they asked me for a second chance to answer the question. they had come to a new understanding – that very moment they had made to me and to our future together, a dear promise.

thank you very much!

self-confidence is the mother of success

as is known to us all, a famous proverb says “failure is the mother of success”. yes , it’s true. history informs us that stories of successare also stories of great failure. as a matter of fact. there are many factors that can contribute to a preson’s success in life. today i will give you a new idea―self-confidence is the mother of success. success is getting up one more time than you fall down. but when failures knocks you down. will you have the confidence to get up?so self-

confidence is essential to success .

self-confidence means the firm belief that you can do things well. it is believed to be the first secret of success. if you want to succeed in doing anything, you must have confidence in your abilities. and i

deeply aware that nothing can defeat a person who full of confidence.

self-confidence gives you light when you are in dark, and gives you encouragement when you are disappointed. it is self-confidence that inspires you to cope with any hard task. with self-confidence, you believe that you can and will succeed, and this gives you the courage to try new things.

some people find most of the things impossible, saying, “it is beyond my ability to do the task.” or “i am not fit for it.” these are only lame excuses. when our heart is void of self-confidence, every hope is gone, we will always living in the moments of fear and thoughtless.

so ladies and gentlemen do you have it in you? if you think you don’t, boost up youself as your mind is your greatest mentor.

if you have a goal to pass cet 4 and cet 6 college english exam easily with high marks, just believe in yourself. yes you can

if you want to be a great man in the future and never let your parent down.

just believe in yourself. yes you can

if you have a dream that conqur english to make china stronger. just believe in youself. yes you can.

thank you so much for your listening.篇二:cctv英语演讲比赛稿件 2008年cctv演讲比赛

changed by the earthquake

so many things have been changed by the earthquake, and among all of them, i find it most inspiring that people’s perception of the post-80 generation has been greatly changed.

once labeled as indifferent and self-centered, we grow under immense concerns and criticism. what we did during the earthquake has made the worries eliminated and the disapprovals discarded. we were the nurses fighting 48 consecutive hours to save lives. we were the young teachers ensuring all students’ safety but failing to get themselves out of the ruins.

however, that is far from enough. we were also the young girl with beautiful eyes, shouting assuring under the rubbles, “i am fine. i am alive.” we were also the young man who kept talking with his girlfriend about their wedding ceremony until he lost his voice, and, finally, his life.

to those voices of doubt, we respond with the courage to live on and the resolve to earn the dignity of living under the horrendous attacks of the earthquake. changed by the earthquake is the perception of my generation, but what remains unchanged is the caring heart, the sense of responsibility and the undying即兴演讲

do we care too much about what the rest of the world thinks about our country?i think we do not care too much. and actually, we have a lot more to care about, because we have certain image problems in some parts of the world. and thatand more than that, some people only connect china with the rich cultures. but they fail to understand what more than china is, what we have achieved nobly in terms of the quality education, the continue expansion of the rule of law.

and all in all, we believe, simply, we have a lot more to care about: to provide a positive image of china to the world.

olympian and paralympian, man and superman

four billion people all over the world watched the olympics this summer but only about two billion people watched the paralympics.

does this mean that the paralympics is a second-class event? of course not. 48 world records were broken in the olympics, but 279 at the paralympics. 132 olympics records were set, while 339 paralympic records. of course, the “lightening bolt” of jamaica was the fastest man in the world. but what about

“black blade”—pistorius of south africa—who runs only 1 second slower, but whose legs are both amputated? who’s the real superman? we were the nurses fighting 48 consecutive hours to save lives. we were the young teachers ensuring all students’ safety but failing to get themselves out of the ruins.

so, what is the olympic spirit? as a volunteer, i have learned that striving against the odds, to do your best—for yourself, for others and for your country—is the true essence of the olympic spirit. so long as you are doing your best, then you are a superman. and you deserve and will earn the respect of everyone else. i firmly believe this spirit acts upon everyone of us, even you and me. everyone right there right now, even the people watching the tv show right now, there is a superman hidden somewhere in your heart. why don’t we let them out and grasp it?即兴演讲

should olympic champions enjoy preferential treatment when applying to universities?

like what’s said in the video, universities are a higher education. if these people have preferential treatments, then their starting point would be lower than the other students in the same university. it may seem nice; it may seem cool; it may seem fair when they step into these doors. but after, when once they step in, they may find it

and the last point, our world is a world of diversity. we need people who are good at something they love and they can do, not a lot of people can do anything,

but nothing good. just like clockwork, everything works in a specific way, so they can work together?

taking on my challenges

ladies and gentlemen:

i grew up in a city by the yangtze river where water never poses a subject of any great moment. the abundant water resource is like a cozy cradle, breeding me, raising me and blessing me, and it frees me from any concern for water shortage. however, during my stay in sydney this summer, some trifles challenged the thoughts and ideas that dwelled in my mind.

with no choice but to take on challenges and adapt to changes. the moment bits and pieces of challenges to my old lifestyle trickled in, part and parcel of pictures of water shortage flooded in: australia is the driest inhabited continent on earth; over 80

countries suffer a water shortage that threatens health and economy; and 40 percent of the world’s population still has no access to clean water or safe sanitation.

challenges i came across are far from delightful, while the changes i’ve made are far from painful. michael staley once said, “there is no challenge more challenging than the challenge to improve yourself.” by adjusting myself from

brawn to brain, by

reshaping myself from slow to sure, i should be glad to take on my challenges far and

away.

即兴演讲

are people educated overseas entitled to a higher salary?

well, my answer is “no.”

in the first place, chinese from overseas are not necessarily superior or able since salary is the criterion of evaluating a person’s quality. the highest salary should definitely be given to people with the most capability, and not those who graduate from a foreign university with a prestigious and shining big name.

and on the other hand, the china’s own homemade talents are also flourishing, according to the video clip. and looking at these young candidates today, although none of us is a student with a foreign diploma, i have faith in saying that we havedemonstrated our characters, our english knowledge, as well as our positive outlooks on life. and i have faith in saying that we are potential pillars to our country.篇三:cctv杯英语演讲比赛

discover yourself

ever since the accelerated development of human civilization, perpetual scientific discoveries of nature had accompanied mankind all along the journey. it was by discovering the world around us that human beings have been able to lead a more sophisticated life. however, as g.k. chesterton once said, “one may understand the cosmos, but never the ego; the self is more distant than any star.” similarly, our life is a journey of uelenting efforts to discover more of ourselves.

when i was 6 i constantly pictured myself as an elegant and skilled pianist rendering chopin’s nocturne beautifully on the stage, receiving warm applause after my performance. as i furthered my piano lessons, it was hard to be oblivious of my non-gifted skills. sometimes i couldn’t help but have this feeling of despair when i woke up to the reality and discovered that my goal was uealistic. brutal but real, it was the first time i had discovered that i couldn’t have it all.

when i was 12 i thought the coolest job in the entire universe was to be a surgeon. i spent hours and hours watching the drama “grey’s anatomy”, and couldn’t help falling in love with the kind of life those doctors lead on the screen. i was utterly mesmerized by the scalpel and

all those fancy medical terms they use. however, i stopped dreaming about being a surgeon when i discovered that it was the idea of being a surgeon that appealed to me, not what it truly was. therefore, the dream ended and i discovered some more about myself.

this year i turned 16, i could proudly say i do not dream to be but ascertain to pursue being a lawyer in the future. since junior high school i was always awarded the “most eloquent debater” in every single debate i participated in. i cannot only think logically but also deliver my thoughts promptly. my huge interest in philosophy also adds to my reasoning whenever i tried to argue on something equivocal. being aware of the obstacles and hardships on the way to becoming a great lawyer never panics me, for the simple reason that i have this faith and passion in what i am aspiring after.

g.k. chesterton was absolutely correct, the most complicated part of comprehending the world is the study of the somehow smaller world—ourselves. i subsequently realized that growing up is the process of discovering ourselves; we get to know what we truly are, and become who we dream to be. as we shape ourselves, and as we shape our lives, we gradually become more aware of our limits and potentials and consequently learn to adjust to what’s out there. and by that, ladies and gentleman, i’m proud to say that i’ve discovered part of myself, still discovering today standing on this stage, and hopefully a lot more in the

future. i will always keep this embedded into my heart that things do not change, we do.
